How Stories Validate Other Stories
The notion that Contextual Stories validate Specific Stories is of the Prime Importance. As information gleaned for the specific story may only be understood but in context. Such is the case in Network Analysis: Two individuals may be connected, but the nature of the relationship gives meaning to the connection, and adds credence to the larger context that validates the connection.
In the same mode, the movement of an independent variable may seem to lead to a particular dependent variable, while in fact it is the mediating variable or even the moderating variable that actually is leading to the dependent variable, following how closely related to the Larger Contextual Story. And very often the independent variable and the mediating/moderating variable may both lead to the dependent variable at the same level, they are then Concomitant variables, reinforcing each other. All the variables may also be correlated, and the driving force may be the Larger Contextual Story.
When a specific story makes sense in the context of a Larger Story and is also corroborated in other related stories, it is thus validated in that context. And as long as the Larger Contextual Story is verified, the specific stories that are part of that engine may also be verified more easily as the preceding stories leading to the LCS are also verified.
Stories are part of Storied Engines where stories are driven by each other in their many connections leveraged by a Larger Contextual Story.
So as many related specific stories validate a Larger Contextual Story, the same way the Larger Contextual Story validates them in return in the web of their connections.
